- Introduction
-
The ICT & Robotics Engineering major provides education on ICT and applied robotics to cultivate engineers who are able to play a pivotal role in the Fourth Industrial Revolution through their ability to apply information from multiple fields. Students take theoretical courses on control, robotics, embedded systems, and intelligent systems based on a background in electrical and electronic engineering and acquire the skills necessary to conduct R&D on future smart systems. By enabling students to acquire basic knowledge and practice-based expertise on prgramming languages, application software, information processing technology, signal processing technology, data communication and networks, and wireless/ mobile communication network technology based on ICT, the major teaches the theories and skills required in industryacademia- research endeavors related to software and ICT. It also teaches basic principles, such as semiconductor-based memory and non-memory semiconductors, MEMS (microelectromechanical system) sensors, and robot materials and parts—essentials of the robotics industry—and basic theory and technology for design, manufacturing, and application. After graduation, students work in electronic product development/ planning/production, design/production of electronic parts, customer support for electronic products, consumer or industrial electronic devices, info-communication devices, electronic application devices, electronic components, semiconductors, (flexible) displays, robotics, healthcare equipment, optical technology, 3D printing, virtual training systems, wearable smart devices, smart farms, OLED displays, connected cars, information technology (e.g. AI), communications technology (e.g. mobile communication), or broadcasting technology. Graduates are also employed as public servants with an electronics, computer, or telecommunications specialization or can gain a secondary teaching certification in electronics and communication through a program offered within the major.
