At the forum, which was attended by more than 200 □, there was a lively discussion on why it is necessary to establish a medical school at a national university. In the case of existing medical schools, there is a lack of content on core competencies in public health care in the educational goals and curriculum, and even though local medical schools aim to train doctors who will work in the local community, most of the doctors actually work in large cities after graduation.
□, Hankyung National University merged with Korea Welfare University in 2023, and Korea Welfare University is a university specialized in the field of rehabilitation health and welfare for people with disabilities, and emphasized its differentiation from other private universities in Gyeonggi-do with the goal of fostering professionals in the field of rehabilitation health and welfare and solving the problem of public health supply and demand. It also proposed a minimum of 10 years of compulsory local service to prevent the leakage of doctors.
